Proceedings

The proceedings of the 13th International Conference on Scanning Tunneling Microscopy/Spectroscopy and Related Techniques (STM'05) in conjunction with the 13th International Colloquium on Scanning Probe Microscopy (ICSPM13) will be published as a special issue of Japanese Journal of Applied Physics after the colloquium.

Extention of Submission Deadline

Since there still are many requests for deadline extension from participants, the publication committee of STM'05 has decided to continue receiving manuscripts until July 31.

The STM'05 committee is planning to support a part of the publication charge, although the amount is not determined at this moment.

Although the submission guideline is unchanged, now you are requested to send the manuscript and related items directly to the following address:

Tokyo 113-0034, Japan.

On submission, please specify that your manuscript is for the special issue of scanning probe microscopy, and indicate your presentation number in the submission form as well as the cover page of the manuscript. (See below)

Submission of a Paper for STM'05 Proceeding

Authors should prepare following items and submit them at the Publication Room (room #102) by 20:00 on July 4, 2005.

The Publication Room will open during 16:00~20:00 on July 3 and 8:30~20:00 on July 4.

  1. Two printed copies of the manuscript.
    • The maximum length of the manuscript is 6 printed pages (about 6180 words) for plenary/invited speakers and 4 printed pages (about 4120 words) for other presentators.
  2. Electric version of the manuscript as a single PDF file including all figures in it.
    • Acceptable medium: Floppy disk, CD, MO and DVD
    • Indicate the name of the first author and the corresponding presentation number on the label.
    • The PDF file should not contain any two-byte characters both in the main text and in the figures.

  4. Copyright transfer and payment agreement form
    • The form can be found on the second page of the pdf files linked above.
    • Signatures of the representative author both for copyright transfer agreement and for payment agreement are required to start the reviewing process.

Submitted materials will not be returned to the authors.

However, do not submit your paper from the website. Otherwise, it will be published as a normal paper instead of published in the special issue.
